Our local area provides a wealth of walking opportunities. Within the city of Cardiff both Bute Park and Roath Park provide miles of walking, whilst many other smaller parks are available. The Bay has miles of waterfront, while the Taff Trail takes you up the river. There are also the Rhymney and Ely river trails. Cardiff Castle is in the town centre, while Castell Coch lies on the outskirts.
Further afield, the "Valleys" provide many walking routes which are less well visited than better known areas like the Brecon Beacons, Black Mountains, Gower Peninsula etc. We are also close to the low-lying Wentloog and Gwent Levels to the east, and the cliffs of the Glamorgan Heritage Coast to the west. Not forgetting the pleasant and historic Vale of Glamorgan, and, within an easy drive, the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley.
